What is Burnout?
While burnout is not an actual diagnosis, it happens to most of us when we are in a chronic state of stress or overwhelm. What causes burnout can vary from person to person, but it often results in feelings of stress, difficulty relaxing, exhaustion, loss of interest in usual activities, and physical health issues. The good news is that you don't have to live this way forever.

What does therapy look like?
In our sessions we may:
-
Explore the causes of your burnout
-
Figure out what self care looks like for you (spoiler: it's not all massages and face masks)
-
Practice ways to regulate your nervous system
-
Work on setting boundaries
-
Learn to react differently to feelings of pressure, guilt, or all those "should" thoughts
-
Figure out what you want this stage of your life to look like
What if I've already tried therapy?
I feel you! Finding the right therapist can feel a lot like dating -it may take a few tries to find someone you click with. Part of our initial session includes talking about your previous therapy and what you liked and what didn't work. As someone who has been in the field for over 20 years I'm typically pretty good at fine tuning when something doesn't work, but I will also let you know if I think you would benefit from something I don't offer.
